Sri lakshmi channakeshava swami

Sri lakshmi channakeshava swamy temple was built around the 13th century a.d. the main gate has one tall dwajastambam (flag staff) swamy statue which is covered with wood and bronze. close by are four stone figures viz.. Sri madbhagavathamu, srimabbarayana avataram, arimab mahabaratm , and srimad Ramayanam another temple dedicated to veerabhadra swamy is located in the old town. it was built in 18th century a.d. another historical laxmi chennakesava swamy temple was built around 13th century a.d. in "Nagulavaram" village which is located 12 kilometers from Macherla town.
sri. lakshmi channakeshava temple at kowsika is a unique master piece of hoysala art. although the exterior structure is not given much importance , but the image of sri. lakshmi channakeshava is really unique. one can observe and fine that a small idol of lakshmi is placed on the right hand top of sri. channakeshava. this is the only temple which l  have visited so far that has this unique combination. the entire idol is beautifully carved and has great depth of details exposed.
